This stuff doesn't bother me as much as the OP, but you are comparing how the national media is covering Darnold to how LSU fans got excited about one of their own players.

People are saying the Jets and others should purposely tank for Darnold after Darnold has only played 10 games.

I don't see a problem with the article. If you are QB at USC , you are kind of expected to lead them to a PAC12/NC Title.
Kind of similar to when LSU's defense used to get a lot of national pub last decade.
