From what my friends tell me, it's the middle aged and older folks that are staunch supporters of Paterno. Alums 35 and under have tried to distance themselves from Joe.

Way too high. No one that I know who is associated with the school still supports Paterno. The ones that do are older t-shirt fans. They are the trash of the fan base. Every school has them.

Let's keep ridiculing the current players because when you dismiss the school or fanbase you are degrading and minimizing the accomplishments and efforts of a team tthat had nothing to do with anything.
Let's still piss on Alabama for banning black people from playing football or getting admitted to the University too!

A significant - hell, probably a majority - portion of that fanbase still supports Joe Pa. Ridiculing Penn State is still 100% justified until that support fades.
If the same proportion of folks at Alabama supported George Wallace, they'd still deserve the ridicule too.
