Really well-written by the master, Wright Thompson, which is a big change for ESPN. Does something that no one else (including the man himself) has been able to do and that's humanize Tiger. Really gives some insight on why/how his professional and personal derailment happened and it's aftermath.

It's long, but worth your 10 minutes.

Very good read. I read it this morning. Really shows a side of Tiger not seen before.

I just read an excerpt on Twitter on how he went to the club with MJ and Jeter, Jordan and Jeter were picking up girls left and right and Tiger didn't know how so he goes up to them and ask "How do I pick up girls" they both looked at each other and told him " tell them you're Tiger Woods"

Eh I usually stay away from people with two last names as it's kind of douchey but I guess I'll give it a look.

Very well written. The part about Tiger asking Jordan and Jeter how to talk to women cracked me up.

SI just wrote a huge article on Tiger as well. I wonder how pissed Wright was when theirs came out

Been slowly getting through the article around work this morning. What a great read. Insightful. Sad.

This wasn't a series of one-night stands but something more complex and strange. He called women constantly, war-dialing until they picked up, sometimes just to narrate simple everyday activities. When they didn't answer, he called their friends. Sometimes he talked to them about Earl and his childhood.

Wow, really nice read. Being 29, tiger was my Jordan, as I was a bit young for most of Jordan's career. He was a whirlwind of a talent. He blew onto the scene seemingly instantaneously, and has disappeared from playing almost as quickly. I love golf, even played on the collegiate level. But I always have a hard time watching when he isn't on the course. He made golf far more exciting than it was before him. He made the game seem more visceral, which attracted the more average sports fan. Not just old white men who believe golf etiquette is a way of life.

Like all men, there is the public persona, and then there is the real man. None of us could handle being exposed the way he was, and it's ignorant to act like we know what he went through. It being self afflicted changes nothing in that regard. Can only hope he finds a way to become comfortable with himself and his life.

Very cool story. He certainly is a troubled dude who has some demons that he needs to fix.

Hopefully he can get back on track in his personal life b/c his golfing career appears to be over. Was never a big fan of his, but you don't have to be to have some compassion for another human.
