The Rockets would have been bounced in the first round without Howard.

I agree with you that the Hawks desperately need a rim protector/elite rebounder. Huge glaring weakness for the team. Horford is good at what he does but he doesn't do those things particularly well. I would like to see the Hawks move him to PF and get a more traditional center.

No you aren't. The Hawks are, but that discussion has already been settled in another thread.
The last 3 teams left in the playoffs were:

Warriors
Cavs
Rockets

/discussion.

Matter settled.

Rockets with the bronze.

P.S... playoff wins:

Warriors: 12
Cavs: 12
Rockets: 9
Hawks: 8
Memphis/Chicago/Washington: 6
San Antonio: 3
Brooklyn/Milwaukee: 2
Dallas/Portland: 1
Pelicans/Toronto/Boston: 0

Rockets played 1 more game (Boom won't like this moral victory). Still got embarrassed just like the Hawks. Lost twice to the Hawks in the last calendar year. Hawks win bronze. we can share it if you want, but we get the medal during the weeks you can only have weekend visitation.

Yes. And I don't want it to be confused that I don't like Horford. But the Rockets are not in the WCF if you replace Howard with Horford.

Horford would be dominant next to a guy like Asik or Jordan. But those guys are hard to find.

They played one more game because they won one more game.

The Rockets won 9 playoff games (3rd most), the Hawks won 8 playoff games (4th most).

Regular season doesn't matter for the tournament. The tournament is where medals are earned.

Rockets with the bronze.

Port baw You're level headed Dwight is obviously a great player, but would you call him the best center in the game? You're taking him over Cousins, Gasol, Al Horford? I'm talking now not 2010 Additionally, could you say that Howard is better than Ewing with a straight face? I'll hang up and listen

I think you can make an argument. He was really good the last two playoffs and I think his offensive game is underrated at this point.

Now would I take him over Cousins? No. Cousins is younger and better offensively. Defense would suffer though.

I have never been a big Marc Gasol fan. I think Dwight is the better player overall, but he's had two years in a row with health issues and you can't hack a Gasol. Gun to my head, I would take Dwight BUT if they were traded straight up I could def warm up to Gasol. He and Harden would be tough to stop.

I've never been a big Al Horford guy. He should be playing C not PF so I would take Dwight.

Howard really is the perfect center for what the Rockets like to do but we need a massive upgrade at PF. Bosh would have been perfect. Smith needs to come off the bench and I am tired of the T-Jones experiment.

If Morey upgrades PG and PF we will win over 60 games next year with Dwight anchoring the D and James playmaking and scoring. That's not me being a homer, that's just how I see it.

Yes, challenge the integrity of Spurs...

It doesn't change the fact that Dwight is trash. I don't even understand why you guys are so hell bent on defending him.

It's comical, but expected. What has he done to inspire belief and respect?

He is wasted talent. And who REALLY cares what JVG says? The guy can be 'out there' at times

Medals are earned by teams playing each other. The teams played. I would accept your flawed argument as a tie breaker, sadly thought there is no tie to break. Hawks are bathing in bronze

No they aren't.

Not everyone in a tournament plays each other. It can only go by who won the most games.

The Rockets 9 wins puts them ahead of the 8 win Hawks in the tournament.

Rockets with the bronze. It's not even an argument.

Harden needs to be more consistent in the playoffs. He is a great player but disappears for full games at times.

Harden is 25 years old, and he has made huge improvements every single year in the league. He will only continue to get better.

Gold and Silver are earned by teams playing each other, right? You can't just give the last, and arguably best medal, away to teams who had no direct competition for third place. I would be all for a short 3 game series to settle this debate but I don't think thats gonna happen. Have to take the games we have. I can't wait for the party in Phillips.

The Rockets damn near beat the Hawks without Harden. They would bust that arse in a 7 game series.

And this isn't about Dwight's talent or ability...this is about his desire, attitude, drive, etc.

Saying you are champion after you lose is bullshite. If Tony Romo does that it's a media shitstorm. Save those comments for participation trophy-types.

All I'm saying is he lacks a certain element to him that winners have. He's good, but he will not go down as a legend, and it's not simply because of his injuries.

Right now? Probably. Not gonna happen though. If you wanted the Bronze they should have got it when they had the chance

He has to have a ceiling though as far as just how good he can get at scoring. I'm not saying he has reached it yet but he is already elite and everyone knows it. I feel like at this point it's something mentally he needs to get over.

The West = Bronze

You don't get that title after struggling against Brooklyn, Washington and being Swept by Lebron and Timofey.
