Post game presser:

"Kevin, what are your emotions after a game like that?"

"I'm not telling you."

I love Durant, but this postseason, his press conferences are hurting his image a little

He's always been like that. He's just not the new kid coming into the spotlight anymore.

He's upset that the team of the guy he said was a "system player" awhile back walked the dog on him. I'd be a little salty, too, tbh

But he's always been kinda surly with the media. He'll be like Pop when he grows up

Salty Durant > generic answer athlete

These guys get asked a lot of dumb questions and mostly give backed canned, cliche answers. More athletes being salty would be a good thing. His team just got their arse kicked, it's normal to be pissed.

Nah not always. Pretty much started the year after he got his arse handed to him in the Finals. Media was saying he was too soft and too nice to win a championship. Ever since then he has gone out of his way to try and be a dick and be a "tough guy". Pretty dumb strategy IMO. He's probably the 3rd best player in the NBA but it seems no one really cares anymore and I don't think him being a dick is helping the situation.

I think it kicked into high gear after that stupid "Mr. Unreliable" headline one of the OK papers ran.

Honestly, I don't blame KD a bit.

Yep. I specifically remember that. He was being called out for being "too nice" and he was also being criticized for not showing emotion on the court.

Since then, it's like he's been trying to purposely be kind of a dick to the media and show emotion on the court.

I remember noticing at the time that he actually changed because he was being criticized.

Nah, Durant is too emotional and takes things personally. Pop couldn't care less. His "tough guy" act makes him look foolish because it's so fake, and everyone knows it.

I agree. Was kind of being tongue-in-cheek with the Pop comment.

He listens to the media too much. Like PrimeTime said, he'll change his on-court demeanor based on what they're saying. That's a slippery slope when writers/sportscasters have you wrapped around their little finger.

That has more to do with the Warriors

If you watched the whole clip you would see he wasn't really being a dick with the answer. Did he dodge the question? Yup. Reasoning for it he gave was that he wasn't going to dwell too much on this game and that he just wants to move forward and play better for the next one.
