I think it's true for Saban coached players since 2000. Not nearly as long, but pretty impressive that if you play for Saban for at least 3 years you'll win a NC since he started at LSU

So in 2007 Jon Scheyer was on the team yet hasn't appeared in a national title game until 2010?

Point is pretty simple. They have had a player on every team since 1982 that was on a team that played for the national title for duke at some point during their career.

The Tom Izzo stat is better. Since 1998 every single four year player at Michigan State has played in a Final Four

That is what made me think of this. I think the duke one is more impressive.

It seems weird to include players in the years before they played in the NC game.

Yep. I like this one. If they don't make it this year they have to get there next year to keep it going.

Technically this is not correct. Langdon was a redshirt one year so he was not eligible to play

I'm assuming that when you sit down in a high school player's living room, this stat is extremely impressive.

1. You can come here, play 4 years and be guaranteed a shot at a National Title.
2. Or, you can just come here and jump to the NBA when you feel like it.

Duke has a history of doing both. Pretty impressive.

I couldn't remember which year he was hurt and just putting him down for all 5 was easy. I added Chris Collins for 95 and 96 who played for the 94 title. 96 was the year Trajan red shirted with a bad knee. I looked it up

Not that Coach K needs any help as it is recruiting.... If they would have had a fifth year senior on either that 82 team or the 86 finals team this streak would go back to 1974
