First of 9 games on the West Coast

Phillips 4
Nix 7
Votto 3
Rolen 5
Bruce 9
Hanigan 2
Stubbs 8
Janish 6
Arroyo 1

I'm really surprised that they DFA'd Owings instead of Danny Flatbill but neither would be huge losses. I like Leake moving to the pen. This will help limit his innings plus he's dropped off a bit and Wood has been turning it on.

In other news Dead Eyes Harang still blows monkey nuts.

When I saw grandal was getting a spot on the 40 man, I had a feeling Owings was about to be a goner.

I personally think its bullshite that he gets a spot but whatever. How about your boy Hannigan getting a bump in the lineup?

A 6-3 record on this trip would give me wood.

I agree. Alonso set a precedent when he got one when he signed. Now every top pick is gonna want one. It's bullshite. Earn that shite.

And yeah, Hanigan deserves the bump.

I told my brother about ten minutes ago that 6-3 would make me blow a hot one.

Maybe he'll try to become an everyday player. It's pretty clear his stuff just isnt very good. His fastball isnt hard and his breaking pitches dont fool too many people. Seems like he has more potential as a hitter, IMO.

His hitting mechanics are really terrible imo but i'm sure he can work at it. I really don't think he's that bad of a pitcher, there just isn't any room for him on the reds.

Yea his mechanics were a little different in college, but not much. He's been pretty successful hitting like that in limited at-bats though. If he focused only on hitting I think he'd be better off. I've watched damn near every inning he's thrown in the bigs and besides his rookie year he hasnt been good. Also his pitching mechanics are pretty bad as well.

Dude steps in the bucket like nobody's business. I think if pitchers had to study up on him I think his raking would come to an end. But on the other hand, if he put in a lot of work I'm sure he could fix his mechanics as well. I really wished it would have worked out but there's a log jam in the pen/rotation.

I'm sure you didn't make this up, but where did you hear/read it. Can't find anything on it and he is still listed as a probable for his next start. I had a feeling it would happen to lighten his load of innings.

Nice. I figured there would be a daily card thread with all the heat they were bringing in the DRT.

i always thought in college he was a better hitter anyway. i was shocked to see him taken that high as a pitcher.

stepping into the bucket isnt always bad. He hit like that at Tulane. He could hit 30-35 HRs hitting in that park and the other bandboxes in teh NL central
