Only 20 years old and still a good looking venue and a great place for baseball.

I understand that it is not a great area of town, but the reason the attendance is bad is because the team sucks and the management abandoned the idea of winning when Ted left.

The shiny new waste of money stadium will draw people for a while. But if they don't win, it will be just as empty.

I know. CSB.

They sold it to Georgia State correct?

I am not that familiar with Bobby Dodd, but would Tech ever consider playing in the new Dome or is Dodd pretty decent? Did Tech ever discuss moving into Turner?

Dodd is a goofy setup due to its location on campus, but my understanding is the Tech alums love the on-campus, midtown area.

It's just ridiculously inconvenient to get there, IMO. and yes, I realize getting to the new one will be a nightmare as well.

If I'm going to a game, I'm drinking so I'd like to avoid driving. I can call an uber, but they still have to sit in traffic like I would if driving so that's an hour just to get there (and I live less than 10 miles away). I'm a big marta fan, but there isn't a stop anywhere close to Turner. The last braves game I went to I drove to marta, took it as close as I could, then called an uber from the marta to take me to turner. Sure I could have just driven, but now I can't drink and on top of htat I have to park in the ghetto and hope the guy pretending to "keep an eye" on my car is legit.

There's nothing at all wrong with the actual facility but a change of venue will be pretty nice I think.

Braves need something to be excited about. Might as well be a new stadium

Yep (and only cost $30 mill for the whole property). GSU is trying to get into there in 2017 but more likely will wait until 2018 to allow extra time to renovate it.

Aside from the last expansion being too big and looking weird, BDS works well for us location-wise and is in great shape. There was never any discussion about playing at the Dome/BDS or the Ted.

While not as good as having a rail stop right there, the Georgia State station is a fairly moderate walk, and the shuttle worked well for the most part. But yea the lack of any MARTA access to SunTrust is incredibly stupid.

I've been to two games there and I've just felt it was a blah field. Stadium looks good, but just boring blue walls and it just seemed huge.

I know a bit about why they left, and it was about a lot more than just lagging attendance.

Just about any MLB team would have moved if they were offered the deal the Braves got from Cobb county. That is really all their is to it.

I live in Kennesaw as well.

The traffic is already a nightmare now. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when the stadium opens.

Good points. City is corrupt.

Glad TF will be used.

Thanks to this deal, Cobb County managed to outshine the city on the corruption scale.
