Probably. It only makes sense to give all awards at the completion of the season. The only downfall is that I could see voters becoming prisoner of the moment.

No. It should stay where it is at.

Otherwise the trophy becomes EVEN MORE of "best player on the best team" i.e. the best player on the team who wins the championship

Well then Paul Hornung wouldn't have won it...

ND didn't go to bowls and certainly not his team.

(Considering almost every team goes to a bowl now and that a losing record team probably would never again have a candidate, why not?)

Nope. Unless you just want it to go to the MVP of the Championship game or some other guy that has a big Bowl. We could just create another award for that.

I don't get why people don't like Regular season awards. If you want to reform something, get better voters or try and train them not to be so swayed by the hype. If I voted i would have voted for Watson this year and last and VY. I didn't need the bowls to convince me. The media got caught up in Jackson having the huge games early and last year since Fournette was the favorite and Henry upstaged him, they just went with him. Bush won it cause he had 600+ total yards including kicks vs Fresno, but since Chris Berman and the NFL Countdown show was so impressed, Bush won.

No because then the award would be heavily weighted towards the best player on the best team.

If that were always the case there's many past outstanding winners that wouldn't be in the competition. It'd be out of sight, out of mind.

Which would be that much different how?

Jason White - Champ game
Leinart - Title
Bush - Champ game
Troy Smith - Champ game
Tebow - Title
Bradford - Champ game
Ingram - title
Cam Newton - title
Winston - title
Mariotta - champ game
Henry - Title

Only Manziel and RGIII and this year...are exceptions from the last 15 years.

Wrong. Go back and look at the regular season numbers. Bush had a better regular season and won in a landslide. Vy had a great season, but he rarely played in the second half of games and his stats weren't crazy. Also, he sucked in the texas am game and that's what clinched the trophy for bush.

No. Bowls are nothing more than an exhibition. Keep it exactly as it is
