Does anyone else remember doing this as a kid?

Making a dirt divot with the heel of your shoe to use as a football kicking tee when playing in the back yard? Do kids still do this? Do kids even play pick up football anymore?

I used to get the girl down the street to hold the ball while I kicked it. She was a bitch though.

And helicopter parents.

I imagine a pickup game would be really awkward with your mom blocking for you, while Declan's mom flings her body at your knees, and one of Sebastian's dads tears his ACL trying to get out of your way.

I would also take off my left shoe and turn it sideways and use the part where your ankle goes, as a tee

Yeah buddy...

My dad always played softball at different playgrounds around the city... I always wound up in a pick up football or baseball game, even if I didn't know a single kid...

I was that type of kid growing up..

We actually had a couple tees (the football came with it), but man do I miss playing pickup football in the neighborhood most days.

Always had to do that after pops would run over the tee with the lawnmower.

Good old days.

probably not because pick up basketball, baseball, soccer, etc... are way more fun

i actually love football as a sport, but the pick up version just sucks IMO.

Three flies and you're out...

I wonder if kids still play that?

Sandlot football was everyday at recess in grade school...everyday.

We came home too many times with ripped and torn t-shirts that every kid started wearing thicker football jerseys to school everyday...and then after those ripped and kids got some broken arms...parents complained and they made us wear flags.

And we wore them but still tackled. Flag football sucks.

My dad built me a PVC goalpost in the backyard. I thought I was gonna be the next David Browndyke.

My sons play tackle in the front yard all the time.

But I got them a tee... don't want them fricking up the front yard with divots.

And...yes...did that as a kid.

Yep the good ol days, I'm not sure I have a single straight finger left between pick up football or a game of "smear the queer" after school. Now a days the school would get sued after the first broken bone and I'm not even sure what the other game would be called now, "Tackle the Gender Variant thing with the Ball"

My kids don't even know what "Red Rover" is.

Sad.
