For all the armchair quarterbacks who second-guessed the Rutgers football play calling this past season, here's your chance to prove your coaching acumen.

With Drew Mehringer headed to Texas, the Rutgers offensive coordinator position is officially open, and as required by state-university regulations, the football program listed the post on the school's job board Monday.

It's a full-time position, with standard hours of 37.5 per week. But it's safe to assume that there's some unrewarded overtime that comes with that half-million dollar salary.

I'm not sure how many P-5 schools post open positions publicly, but Wisconsin does this, too. They get some pretty funny submissions.

Is this required by state law or something?... seems like a huge waste of time.

It's a federal law. All of these positions are always posted publicly.
