They were the top 2 seed two years ago (and very much in the 1 seed conversation) and got placed in the top number 1 seed's bracket. This happened literally 2 years ago, man.
As for Laettner's shot, I remember watching the game with my dad. Definitely one of the more exciting finishes I've seen. I'll always remember Thomas Hill's reaction more than anything else from that game.

I've been a Duke fan since 1982 and I missed the most famous shot in Blue Devils history!! I lived in Kansas at the time and Duke had beaten KU the year before so my roommates HATED Duke. I had a function at BCCC and called my roommate to see what was happening. He told me Duke was down by one and had to go the length of the floor. He was screaming he was so happy. LOL! I hung up dejected but when I got home a pillow across my head was my greeting. My roommate starts screaming "I hate Christian Laettner, I hate Christian Laettner!!" LOL! It was awesome!!!!!
