Do we all agree that fight last night was as scripted as WWE?

A man that never boxed before was able to train and survive 10 rounds against the greatest modern boxer, if not best ever

Mayweather did everything he wanted

He controlled the fight from the start.

The ref stopping the fight before McGregor went down was kind of silly

They had an agreement to an extent of how long the fight should last

No it was not. Conor is a good fighter & striker. He first started training in boxing before mma. He is an athlete & natural fighter with a good fight IQ. Last night went about how I expected.

Floyd is also 40; age takes a toll.

I must be missing the scripted part.

I don't agree with you however I wouldn't be surprised if it came out that they did. Meaning they sold it well in the ring. IMOOf course.

I am not a boxing fan, aficionado, or extremely knowledgeable in boxing, but even I know Mayweather doesn't really knock people out. I'd also have to imagine an MMA athlete doesn't have a glass jaw. Mayweather fought his style, probably didn't really train at all, and still won extremely comfortably.

Well Floyd was 40. Conner is in his prime. Floyd knows Conner could get a cheap knock out if he's not careful so he had to tire him out before he got aggressive, then it ended about like I would have thought. But Conner gave it all he had and I think Floyd was more than satisfied with his own effort so yeah not a fix I don't think.

I feel the same about you. You're acting like a WR stepped into the ring.

we all got worked.

The shite talking, the hype, they built this thing up and agreed to go 7-10 rounds to give the fans a show and then it was game over. Mayweather could have ended it in 3-4 rounds

Mayweather dad, after round 1, was mentioning "round 4" in the corner. So for "scripted" I'd say mayweather chose not to be on the offense until round 5. He could have ended this in 3-4 rounds if he wanted

FM is well know as a defense fighter. CM is known to have a iron jaw and slightly above average power. It is like watching Bama and LSU and complaining that the offense sucks.

Did you not hear the post fight interview? Mayweather told everyone their strategy was to tire him out then go after him. That's exactly what he did.

That doesn't mean it's scripted, and that doesn't mean Mayweather could've ended it in 4 rounds. That means they had a strategy and stuck to it.

Eta: shite, even I said before the fight all Mayweather has to do is wait till he gets tired, he's not used to fighting this long. Anyone with a lick of common sense knew that. It's called strategy.

You understand that because you're not an idiot. Can't say the same for the OP.

So the scripted a strategy.

And they stuck to the script.

OP wins.
