I love how people on this board use my Michael Jordan attacks NOW against him but argued against those very attacks just a few years ago.
I have always tried to make MJ human on this board. It seems impossible though. The reason being is most people are my age(27) so they see MJ as God like. I have made it a point with my friends to go watch full finals from back in the day(I had a thread about discussing this) and yes he was awesome. The best ever most likely. But it gets blown WAY WAY WAY out of proportion

Had M not retired, I'd bet my money on them winning 8 straight. You can choose to say they would have still lost those 2 years in a row. We all have an opinion.

The very reason he retired is because he knew he couldn't get it up to win again that year. He basically said that in his (first) retirement speech. He emptied the tank. He chose to walk away rather than lose.

You play deep into June every year, you're going to lose eventually. He knew that.

Nearly 4 points less a game and 2 TO's more a game. Nah, no difference at all.

Rockets fan, I'm shocked

Yep. Let's also look at some more hypotheticals like you seem to do:

From 1990 to 1993:

Feb 1, 1990: Rockets win 139 - 112
Feb19, 1990: Bulls win 107-102
Jan 3, 1991: Rockets win 114-92
Mar25, 1991: Rockets win 100-90
Jan25, 1992: Bulls win 114-100
Jan30, 1992: Rockets win 105-102
Dec11, 1992: Rockets win 110-96
Jan28, 1993: Rockets win 94-83
Nov23, 1993: Rockets win 100-93

Rockets 7 wins, 2 losses.

Hakeem has said they never had trouble with the Bulls. It was a match-up that favored the Rockets for whatever reason. They had their number.

Try nearly one year. He practiced with them in the 1995 season before returning - and it's not like Pippen, PJ, and other similar players weren't still on the team. How many months does it take? 1, 2, 3?

Here's a hint...the Bulls had come together and made the ECF. They had two problems - no grant, and they were facing a fantastic Penny Hardaway who was eating them alive because Grant wasn't there to guard the rim.

The Rockets were winning it regardless.

Yep. That 95 team wasnt winning without Grant. The Rockets would have beaten them even worse

So you were 10 years old in their last Championship season?

Holy frick, you're definitely the go to guy to talk to about comparing NBA legends like MJ and LBJ

I've seen them both with adult eyes. The argument isn't over yet but as of now MJ is the GOAT. Maybe LBJ gets there, we'll see.

Why would not having grant matter?

Mj won all 6 rings by himself

ETA: You seem dumb. Like you cant read a full paragraph type of dumb

Yep, his TO's went down. Thanks for proving my point. And please keep coming with the name calling it really shows you're "winning".

Grant was obviously more important to the first three peat that Jordan.

He almost carried freaking Pete Myers to a title without Jordan.

That is the only positive thing. His fg % and pts also went down. So now thw 1.3 turnovers a game is a bigger deal than points and fg %? You are def trolling or stupid. Pick your poison

Rockets 7 wins, 2 losses.

I'll concede that to you. I choose to think the Bulls would have won straight through in the Finals though. They may not have. Sad we'll never know.

Bigger difference from 93 to 95 but why would I expect you to be straight? You're right, MJ was right back like he hadn't missed any time. I'm not saying Grant wasn't a big factor.

In 1994 the Bulls only finished 2 games worse than the 1993 team. They swept Cle in the first round the lost in game 7 against the badass Knicks team you've been talking about.

What are your feelings about this?

We do know. Jordan choked in 1995. The end.

And if he never retired, the Bulls win in 1994 and never sniff another title. They lost grant and people seem to forget Pippen was on the verge of leaving. Jordan leaving freed the Bulls up to build the second threepeat.
