Madison Prep says they have open enrollment. They don't. It's supposed to be lottery. It isn't.

They have had scores like this in the playoffs before the split.

Madison Prep can not turn away any student in the East Baton Rouge School district as long as there is room for them at the school. Currently they are or are very close to capacity as far as classrooms and teachers go. They actually have a 3A enrollment and will be 3A next year.

Now since they're close to capacity do they maybe take a promising young athlete over a normal student, I'd bet they do and they are not breaking any rules in doing so.

Classless that's why I enjoyed watching Sterlington whoop that arse. It looked like a varsity team playing a peewee team. But coaches that couldn't coach peewee ball made all the difference.

Prep's starters played only 10 minutes give or take one. It is 100% on the principals and the idiot that authored the proposal. Any research at all tells you there will be match ups like this. In 2013 when Karr mysteriously jumped to non-select, Madison prep should have too. The Many Tigers beat a first round opponent 73-0 a few years back..You are 100% right about the kids not asking to be out there' anything the membership has done since 2013 has nothing to do with the kids. If so, games like Prep and Rosepine; Red River/ General Trass never take place

It's none of your business why your opponent makes the choices they make.

The whole select/non-select stuff is nonsense. Want to win championships then get fricking better and beat them.

109-5. That was the score of a Fairview girls in playoff game 2003. They did not have the split then. As I have said, they have always had scores like this.

That's what happens when you force select schools to compete with non-select. Madison Prep is as select as they come, but Bonine "declared" them non-select and turned them loose to prove a point. They are going to win the state championship by at least 20 points, maybe more.

According to you, anyone who does anything is a pussy. Except you, of course. It's very stale.

Yes, this whole select bullshite pisses me off. You have handful of public school principals, who have been snowed by their football coaches, fricking up the entire LHSAA.

In a state with private, public, charter, magnet, lab, partial magnet, etc., the lines are so blurred it's ridiculous.

Put everyone back together and play ball.

They're no different than Landry-Walker and Karr. Both of those are charter schools that can draw from all of Orleans Parish.

Then you have schools like Byrd, McKinley and Scotlandville that are magnet schools that are forced to play select because more than 25% of the student body come from outside the attendance zone. Those students have to maintain a certain GPA to stay in the magnet program and if they fall below it, they can no longer attend that school.

I think this is all driven by the principals... they're educated differently and have different objectives than the football coaches who are in general against the split

Stupid and untrue.

Regular season games I'd have an issue with this. Postseason? Nope. Like it or not, qualifying for the post means you deserve to get the other team's best.

You may be right, but that hasn't been my perception of it. The principals get the attention, because they are the ones who actually vote.

But I think they are just proxies for their football coaches. I don't think the basketball coaches care much. This is all driven by white parents with a Dixie Youth travel ball mentality and the football coach has to make them happy. They want to win at all costs and are jealous as frick at all the "rich" private schools (most of which are flat broke and operate month to month).

Most of the recruiting, at least these days, is done in the magnet and charter programs, or even the traditional public school programs. It's much easier than getting someone to pay tuition for a kid at a private school.

Basically the misdeeds of a few private schools have screwed up the whole system.
