It's just sad that he's all happy and showboaty after a win, but can't act like a fricking grown man after a loss. It's pathetic.

I agree and have said that 100 times. He wants it both ways but that is not the way things work

If he is going to showboat and act like a dick when he is on top, he cant bitch and complain when he gets his arse beat. Plus, he has to understand that all the antics will bring out the haters. It would for any player. But for him and his history, it doubles the haters.

I had high hopes that he would learn some humility after he got in the NFL and started to take over the Panthers. He never really was a big showboat at Auburn. Nothing like he is doing now,

I can deal with people rooting against him. It's the trash Saints fans who start screaming for him to tear an ACL and calling him a thug that cause me to pay no attention to threads like this usually.

Don't get me wrong, I see your point of view actually and I believe there is some validity to it. Just explaining why some of us pay no attention to crap like this usually.

I'm asking about high school because it seems like the NFL is the only place where he has experience losing.

How many 5 star, athletic freak QB's lost a lot in high school?

Question is dumb. Thread is dumb. Cam has you forever rustled

People who call him a thug are just idiots And anyone wanting him to get injured are just assholes.

Oh I agree Unfortunately it is rampant on this board. Makes it hard to have a remotely legitimate discussion concerning Cam.

He's used to being the best athlete on the field and dominating because of it. He's no longer that in the NFL

Oh he is.... but his team around him isn't. And you need more than the best athlete in the NFL.

I think he is gonna be a dude that retires early. Cant see him toughing out a 15+ year career with how sore of a loser he is.

If he retires early, it won't be because he's a sore loser. It'll be because the astronomical number of hits he takes will add up and he'll physically start to break down.

You think people would give a frick?

The reality is, he does 95% (or higher) of post-game interviews. People lose their damn minds when he walks out of one because he's pissed. When it happens on rare occasions like this, reporters get more material than if he stood up there and Russell Wilson'd his way through it. Again, see Marshawn Lynch.

This is patently false.
Cam Newton getting hit a ton is patently false? Really? Maybe the part where I said more than any other NFL player "by a mile," but definitely more than any other quarterback.

Dude gets hit a handful of times a a game
Between hits, sacks, and carries...no, he doesn't get hit a "handful" of times.
quote:

Lineman get hit every single play
blocking =/= hitting
quote:

running backs get hit probably twice as often as Cam.
Doubtful, unless you're counting blocking again. And if there are any, I'm willing to bet there are very few. Teams rotate running backs very often now, and it's hard for most to stay healthy.

Picking up a blitzing player is different than just blocking someone, IMO. That should count. Unfortunately, I bet it's hard to find objective data to confirm.

He may get hit more than any other QB
He most definitely does and it isn't even close.

Since Cam Newton entered the league in 2011:

630 carries
200 sacks
364 hits (roughly considering he has missed 3 career games)

total: 1,194

These numbers don't take into account playoff games OR preseason games.

83 total games (not counting preseason OR playoffs) and 1,194 hits...that equals out to roughly 14.4 per game.

This.

I've said it before, but if Cam Newton wants to last in the NFL, the offense has to be changed to a more traditional set, and Cam Newton has to play more careful.

Unfortunately, that's the hard part about this. He's a beast at what he does. It's a double edged sword.

Stop. They are nothing alike.

Not even sure if you're a staunch Cam defender.

Losing stinks. Not sure anyone handles it well. Manning and Brady threw fits on the sidelines when they were losing, too.

Hey well said, BUT CAM is in the spotlight more than ever now and has to face the fact that losing is part of the game he plays.. Is he very good at what he does???? Yes, but he needs to grow up and realize that HE is not the only one that makes a team good.

Didn't take long for you to add nothing of substance to the thread.

Very typical of you.

It's a big deal because the NFL is an entertainment business. Part of his contract requires him to being an adult and answer questions from the media after the game. If he (or any other) person makes themselves unavailable for interviews then articles aren't written
You think the writers get more material by him walking out or by him giving cliche answers to questions?
