If he truly cared about the Cowboys in the same way that he wishes they cared about him, Bryant would be willing to take less money.

You're right, but in this situation the comment makes some sense.

I'm just saying. He says he cares about the Cowboys and wishes they cared about him. By "wishes they cared about him," he means he wishes they'd offer him a big-money extension. So, if caring = giving or saving someone money, then Dez doesn't seem to care after all.

People are all for taking less money as long as it's not their money.

He's earned every penny he's made. Why would he take less? Front office needs to earn their money and draft well/find undervalued free agents to fill in the gaps. It takes no business acumen to tell a high priced player to take less money.

He also made the statement that he understands "it's just business".

That has nothing to do with my point. Just forget I said anything.

Tom Brady agrees.

Tom Brady has made $150 million from salary alone over his career. Dez has "only" made $11.8 million.

It is easier for Brady to give up money when he has already made so much.

Not to mention his wife is making significantly more than him.

It seems that he wants a record contract with a huge bonus so in the range of 16+Million a year. He's already turned down a 13m a year because there wasn't enough guaranteed. As a Cowboys fan,I would like to see a 84-90/6yr with around 30 guaranteed.

Also worried because he switched agencies. Jay Z is probably telling him he can make inflated QB money.
This makes me believe that he will be tagged

Dez has earned a huge pay day. Anyone saying to take less money is dumb as frick. If you're the top of your field, which in this case he's right up there, you deserved to be paid as such.

Plus I don't even think he's giving up money, right? I think he's just deferring it.

I'm sure Dez would be happy if they met in the middle and gave him market value, but it's the Cowboys who don't want to do that, likely.
