Denver's crazy 2 year turnaround

Denver went from having one of the best offenses in NFL history and a mediocre (at best) defense that was embarrassed in a super bowl to having one of the best defenses in NFL history and a mediocre (closer to bad) offense that did the embarrassing in a super bowl. One thing is proven yet again (and will quickly be forgotten by pundits) - defense wins championships.
Bill Polian wasted Peyton for 14 years by focusing on offense first and continuously putting mediocre defenses on the field.

I mean two of the last three Super Bowls have been one by historic defenses. But this century has had just as many offense first champions, or balanced ones at least.
Really only the Ravens in 2000 and this Broncos team have won with below average offenses.

Early Pats 3 titles in 4 years had very average offenses and top 3 defenses. Brady had 125 yards passing in the first super bowl and the offense had 10 points.

I heard this on the broadcast so I am going to assume that it is factual.
Only 6 starters from the Broncos played in the SB 2 years ago. So they turned over 75% of their starting lineup in 2 years. Pretty amazing.

This broncos team has a bad offense. The 2000 Ravens had a bad offense.
The early pats teams, the bucs team were all decent offenses. Seattle had an above average offense.
For the most part you need a combination of both. You just can't win a championship as a team like Texas tech... Average 550 yards per game but give up 490.

It's probably accurate in that 6 players played but might be a little deceiving in that they had so many injuries, especially on D. Miller, Wolfe, Harris, etc were all injured during SB

Something like 6 starters were out on what was already an average defense two years ago, including Wolfe, Miller, and Harris.
