Just looked up the backcourt rule:
This is Rule 10, Section X, part b.

quote:

b. During a jump ball, a try for a goal, or a situation in which a player taps the ball away from a congested area, as during rebounding, in an attempt to get the ball out where player control may be secured, the ball is not in control of either team. Hence, the restriction on first touching does not apply.

So to me as I read that, that's a legal play since neither team is deemed in control after the ball hits the rim.

I don't know the rules in the NBA well enough, but you may have a point here.

They didn't effect the outcome of the game.

We were down 4 when the most blatant one wasnt called. But yeah that wouldnt have changed the outcome of the game. Do you understand basketball?

Which call was that? The over and back?

That's not a violation as I just pointed out.

Not over the back... Which you looked up.

Over and back. Shumpart caught a pass on our side of the half court line and pivoted back over to Cleveland side. Which is over AND back.

That actually wasn't backcourt. Someone posted the rule in the game thread. The only really horrible ones were some of the offensive fouls against Atlanta, especially the moving screen on Millsap that lead to the technical.

No. But we were down 4 and he panicked. Should have been our ball with a chance to cut it to 2 or 1.

They called those on both teams, if you were being objective.

Apparently you can tip a ball in the backcourt if no one has possession. I'd never heard of that either, but someone posted the rule.

This is what had me pissed. I have never seen offensive fouls called like that especially so one-sided. Korver alone had 5 points called back bc of fouls. The T on Millsap was just ridiculous, the amount of crying NBA players do and he gets T'd for that?

In the grand scheme of things, playoff basketball is marred with terrible officiating and last night wasn't too terrible.

I really wish the NBA in general would try and improve the reffing bc you can't watch a game or follow an in-game thread without constantly seeing how terrible the officiating is. And it is every. single. game. YOu just have to pray a terrible call isn't the reason you lose.

You have the biggest bitch in NBA history on your team.

That was the worst officiating I have seen in my life.
You're not only quite whiny, you've taken hyperbole to a new level with your whining.

The NBA proved last night with how bad the officiating was that we will not win one in cleveland.

One team had 21 personal fouls, the other 19. One team shot 20 FTs, the other 23.

I don't think refereeing was necessarily a deciding factor in the game but the millsap foul and then technical was literally one of the worst sequences of refereeing I have ever seen.

That's hyperbole (I hope), but when you follow the ref to the table and keep bitching, it's a tech every time in the NBA.

Anyone who watched the game can agree that the refs sucked arse. But to say they favored the Cavs or the Hawks is ridiculous. There were multiple shitty calls against both teams

Your'e not going to sway any shitty saints fans (as these are) they are against anything pro Atlanta.

Labrone gets calls & those refs sucked balls but, the Hawks still had a chance to win at the end.

No excuses Hawks need to take the next two and work on labrones knee and ankle.
