David Shaw-Helfrich and year 4

Shouldn't everyone wait until past Year 3-4 before giving someone a huge contract? IF they took over a successful program that they didn't build?
It's always amazing when replacements come full circle on recruiting classes and suddenly you suck.
Shaw had 3-4 years with Harbaughs last class plus Andrew Luck for a year.
Just like Helfrich with Mariota and Kelly's final cycle of classes.
It never fails.
Year 4 always comes home to roost.

I don't get your point about year 4 and David Shaw.
He is in his 6th year and won the Rose Bowl in his 5th.

I was Shaw's biggest critic, and thought he was garbage ever since they lost the fiesta bowl to Oklahoma state in a game that was lost by the coaching staff. I kept saying he was the young, black Larry Coker.
Last year though I was really impressed with Stanford, specifically the offense, and my opinion on Shaw changed.
Looks like last year was an aberration.
Helfrich is dogshit.
