Not sure if the off-season thread was anchored

Chicken anchored it like 2 hours after it was started.

Love the Aoki acquisition. Hes likely a backup outfielder. Contact hitter, low K rate, decent OBP.

I like the Aoki signing. He probably isn't a starter for us, but he gives us very solid depth. Decent hitter and on-base guy. Honestly, I think if we can add another big bat, particularly in the outfield, and add a couple good starting pitchers (which might be hard because the free agent pitchers are awful), I think we can be World Series favorites, outside of the Cubs of course.

Aoki is a solid bench guy for us and the type of hitter we need to add

I'll be completely shocked if he doesn't end up in Boston. I'd really like to add Reddick to the outfield. Assuming we don't have to over pay in a weak market.

Other off season stuff:

Val, Castro, Rasmus and Fister are all free agents now. Option decisions on Gattis and Neshek TBA tomorrow. It's expected we'll pick up Gattis' option and decline Neshek.

Sort of makes me think they have something lined up later. Or they just couldn't get anything for him.

Yeah, there really was no room for him if we are going to ever let our young guys get some time in the pen. I wonder if they'll just let Hoyt fill in for him or sign someone

I was daydreaming the other day about how much Greg Holland could be signed for. Missed all of this year recovering from injury and I'm pretty sure he's a FA. Could be worth the risk of signing him for cheap with a possible huge upside

Holland will get good money, even with coming off the injury. That said I still don't trust any of our closing options so he may be the cheapest of what's available.

Giles had this one stretch late in the year where he was lights out and what we paid up for. Hopefully he can go back to what he was pre-houston

Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow.
