Guess I should've tuned into 790 last night.
That's 3 straight for YFPHA and today we go for the sweep, sending young Vince out to the bump after an encouraging 6.1 inning outing last time out. Royals counter with Edinson Volquez, who is 8-4 with a 3.18 ERA.
A win tonight would be a huge way to cap off a home stand against 2 of the best teams in the AL before heading out for 10 games on the road before the all star break

Saw Davis signed a max deal.
Got me thinking. The Astros should just go ahead and sign Correa to a 10 year, Trout type contract already.

It will be interesting to see how they handle signing him and Springer long term

Correa can wait a couple years...springer needs a deal by next year but I fear his agent wants him to become a FA

Yeah I want to get Springer signed to a 5 year deal.
To hell with his agent. Luhnow will sell him on how he's a cornerstone in this organization.
FYI tonight's game is the halfway point in the season.

Keith Law wrote this about Appel recently
Vs. RH: .246/.287/.384
Vs. LH: .333/.413/.520
ETA: About the same amount of Plate Appearances for Each RH 150/LH 144.
He needs to figure that shite out.

Last year, Appel's issue was working too quickly from the stretch; this year, he's using a slide-step to alleviate that problem, but his changeup has regressed and lefties are feasting on him.

If the slide step is causing that many problems then WHY are they making him do it?

I don't even care about the guy. I hope he's shipped off. Maybe they can package Hoes with him and bring in Chen.

Very good question.
Interestingly, I was looking at his 2014 batter splits, and they are almost the opposite, did well against Lefties and No so good against righties

He always has excuses and the organization always has excuses for drafting him.

I think Tickfaw tried to buy my ticket on Preston St before the game last night when I was walking in

If we win tonight we will be on a 94 win pace for the year. I really hope we don't puss foot around on making a deal for pitching help. I don't want to waste a month of the season.

So July is just going to be a waste of a month?

I've been hoping that douchebag would show up since the start of the season. Of course he doesn't care to show up in these threads now.
I asked GrandfatherTiger or whatever his name is about Houston and again, ignored.

It's too damn early for you guys to be bickering, let us finish our coffee

If Cueto is their top target, which it seems like, there's no way they're going to get him before the all star game because Cincy is hosting. I also want them to wait and see on him a little bit because of his health issues. I think after the All Star game is when things will really start picking up.
