Hopefully Formerly Fausto is Formerly Astro when Feldman comes back.

I don't know why Yall hate on Fausto.

He's been everything we want in a #5 guy. And he's pretty decent when we give him some run support.

I could see him lasting the whole season bouncing between the rotation and the pen. It takes much more than 13 arms to make it through a whole season.

We're into June and he's got an ERA close to 5. But after his one solid season for the Indians, he's got a career ERA of 4.88 in 177 games so he's probably pitching pretty close to what we can expect. There's a reason we plucked him off the scrap heap.

With McHugh not living up to expectations, Feldman not being very good/injured and Obie inconsistent with injuries, we need Fausto to be better than a 5.00 ERA.

If he were the true #5 that's fine, but with the other injuries is that really what he has been? And will he be one of the top 5 if/when a deal is made for another pitcher and Feldman comes back? You can always put him in Buchannan's place in the bullpen and store him until someone else is injured, Obie's blister issues continue, etc. But his days in the rotation appear to be numbered unless there are injury setbacks, performance setbacks (LMJ), or they don't trade for a pitcher.

Devensky had another good start last night. era at .71 now. not many strikeouts but doesn't walk people either. wonder if he might turn into a nice back of the rotation "pitch to contact guy"

Reed hit his 15th HR last night. that dude needs to be up at CC soon.

Correa only 1-5 last night, cuz BABIP and stuff. HE is ready

Seeing Gonzales and Villar and marisnick in teh same lineup is very depressing.

Jim Callis ?@jimcallisMLB
I'll have a mock @MLBDraft up at @MLBPipeline today. I present an interesting @Astros scenario where they could get Bregman, Fulmer, Cameron

Because you don't specifically like Fulmer or because you are dead set on wanting 2 bats?

I agree. Most of his starts are 4 runs 6+ innings. Not bad for a number 5. His last two starts haven't been very good (even though the last one against CWS didn't end as bad as it was looking), so if that trend continues then I could see us getting rid of him.

I know this is a polarizing topic in these threads... but, I'm going to leave this here, just in case any of you want to read it.

Summary: Anthony Castrovince (whoever he is)... makes a pretty good case for the Astros trading for Hamels.

I still think he's a good fit for the Astros - IF - (1) Phillies take on a bulk of the remaining contract, and (2) they somehow put together a good enough package to bring Paplebon over (again with Phillies paying some of his salary).

With Hamels and Paplebon -- the Astros can make a strong deep run into October. And they'd be set up nicely for next year.

ETA.. nevermind what I said. Just listen to Dhav

Personally, I think Bregman would be a pretty good pick at #2 or #5.

However, at this point, I really hope the Astros don't draft Bregman at all. I don't want to have to hear you bitch about it for the next 3 years.

I'm all for Hamels, and Papelbon would relegate Qualls to middle relief when trailing duty...win-win.

List of guys I absolutely don't want to give up, in order:

Correa (no shite)
McCullers
VV
Tucker

Don't really wanna give up Feliz, but I could live with it. Any other prospects, in the right package, would be alright with me.
