Would be a great post-waiver add... plus then Peacock could be used as a multi-inning guy out of the bullpen, so effectively helps there as well.

Verlander hasn't cleared yet, but word is that Altuve has and will be dealt for several more prospects for Luhnow to hold onto until it is way too late.

Well, it's not my money, but yeah. Although, the only team that would possibly claim him that the Astros would be ahead of in terms of priority would be the Nationals.
Dodgers aren't going to do it with Darvish added, no other NL clubs are going to, Yankees and Red Sox both would have priority over the Astros.

All AL clubs have priority over NL. Cubs nationals have the need and might would pay.

They will not lose the division at this point. Now making serious noise in the playoffs? That is a different story. The west would only catch them if they cannot win anymore games and they themselves win every night. That will not happen. And they will eventually hit again.

I'm pretty down on making much noise in the playoffs at this point. Those numbers Tags posted last night
A near 5.50 ERA over the last 50 games. Just 16 quality starts over those 50 games. Our pitching is unreliable shite at this point.
Planning to out score the opponent against Kluber or Sale etc isn't a great plan

One step to try to get the pen right would seem to be having Devo not come into games with runners on base for awhile. I think he needs to get his confidence back first.
Of course, Harris needs to be healthy. Luke has also shown some signs of getting right. Liriano needs to adjust and not be a disaster.
