gotta think Singelton would be in a package to SD or somewhere if they make a trade. you have to think either he or VV is going down tomorrow and maybe both of them to make room for Fiers and Gomez. then someone has to go when George comes back.

I really wish we just pull the plug on Carter.

@Chandler_Rome
A.J. on the roster following the Gomez/Fiers deal: "We have a plan in pencil. We'll sleep on it. We'll make sure we have our guys in order."

I wish the plan didn't include trading phillips. I wouldn't be too mad it gomez had 2 or 3 years under control, but he only has one.

I shite you not, Orbit is rehearsing a Tina Turner number in a dress by himself on the field right now.

although mlb.com probably won't appreciate one of their reporters using shite in a tweet.

Grandma turning 88 this weekend, gotta go up to the hill country but gonna try and wake up early Sunday to get back and see if I can't snag one of those Biggio plaques. Sucks we're gone for 2 weeks after that

Insane we have Giants, Tigers, Rays, Dodgers, Yankees, Twins in consecutive series in a few weeks

Some in industry believe Astros could move Jake Marisnick before the deadline. Padres a potential fit if they move an OF.

Jake would have already been down if springer didn't get hurt. I love his hustle and his d but just can't hit enough to play. Gomez is a gold glover and he can hit.

Wonder what they would do if they got Ross tomorrow? 86 McHugh and feld?

One of Fiers, McHugh or Feldman would be in a Ross deal, so no one would need to go otherwlse. LMJ is about to get sent to the pen to reduce workload.

Astros, Padres Working On Significant Deal
July 31st, 2015 at 12:38am CST • By Jeff Todd
The Astros and Padres are “working on ‘something big,'” Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports tweets. It’s unclear precisely what is involved, but he notes that Tyson Ross and Craig Kimbrel have both been discussed, with San Diego potentially looking for a center field acquisition. Chris Cotillo of SB Nation tweets that Houston center fielder Jake Marisnick is “believed to be in play” in talks.

Not a surprise that Fiers may not be staying here very long. He's a flyball pitcher who can make a Ross/Kimbrell deal happen with minimal damage. Padres also have nothing as far as true CFs go. Amazing.

I wish carter had a modicum of trade value. I would rather see him go and Js stay. But it won't happen. I think VV and Js would have to be in that deal with both pitchers under control for 2+ years

@ChrisCotillo
One name possibly involved in these Padres-Astros talks: Mark Appel. Unclear how close sides are to a deal.
