I'm officially on the Gerrado Parra bandwagon.
Hitting 315 right now with a 350 on base. Has gold glove caliber skills in the field. Has an absurd batting average batting in the leadoff spot this year.
I don't think he will be that costly, as he will be a free agent, and the brewers need some young talent to rebuild with.

I'm with you. They should make the move before we play the angels.

How many ws winning teams only had 1 dependable starter?
Just the past two seasons of World Series rotations.
2014 Giants
Bumgardner, Peavy, Hudson, Vogelsong
2014 Royals
Shields, Ventura, Guthrie, Vargas
2013 Red Sox
Lester, Lackey, Peavy, Buchholz
2013 Cardinals
Wainwright, Wacha, Kelly, Lynn
I don't think Keuchel, McCullers, McHugh is too far off from anything those teams were trotting out, I'm thinking Obie as the four and VV coming out of the pen would be the way we go. But if VV keeps progressing he will be in the rotation.

Lets get this DAT going baws.
But yeah Parra is looking like the greatest possible asset for the stros. Bruce doesn't fit needs, neither does Upton. Does Carlos Gomez, also from the Brewers, fit? Maybe, but he will probably be too expensive and doesn't fit as well as Parra I don't think.

Jeff made sure to mention how impressive Carter was last night

So do you folks think Tyler White gets a shot at some point this year?

So I've been on vacation for the past week.
What's the deal with TCB lately? I haven't been there since the they went off the deep end defending Carter and wRC+ justification attempt.

I don't see it happening. I would like for it to happen, especially since Carter/Singleton haven't done a whole lot lately. I think it depends a lot on if they are willing to make some 40 man roster moves.
Grossman, Chapman and Buchanan are 3 guys and I don't think should/will be on our 40 man roster next year. We have 2 open spots right now, one of which will be filled soon by Jed. Another could be potentially filled by a trade if we don't give up anyone on the 40 man in said trade. So Luhnow would have to be willing to take someone off to make room for White, and those 3 are the most likely candidates imo.
That was basically a rambling way of saying I wouldn't expect Tyler White up here this year
ETA: but maybe Luhnow will pull the trigger

Don't know about tcb but clutchfans was polishing the carter turd last week. Threads dont have a high turnover rate there but it was going on 5 pages when I was reading it.
Involved a Lunhow Gattis Hinch love triangle and that Karter was on the outside looking in. Gattis is only getting credit because Hinch and Lunhow bat him higher in the order and it isn't fair to Karter to bat behind other low on base guys.

I don't understand why so many refuse to admit he's bad. It's pro sports, who gives a shite. It doesn't matter if he's trying his hardest or some BS, he's statistically one of the worst everyday players at his position in the league.
I'm really glad we don't have a mega Carter apologist here or our threads would be a mess every night

Obie? I sure hope he's not in our playoff rotation, unless he can find some way to be consistent. He doesn't seem to have the it factor.

Thought this was interesting....shows you what the Phillies are asking....they can get fricked if they're serious and they wouldn't budge on offers like this.
quote:
Regarding the interest of the Dodgers, Stark says that Philly has asked for as many as six quality prospects in a package that would not include top youngsters Corey Seager and Julio Urias. While Los Angeles won’t give up that volume, per the report, the industry consensus is that the Dodgers are in the lead.

Latest update from MLB trade rumors says Orioles might be willing to deal Gausman. Would be under team control through 2020
