Not a big fan of Saturday afternoon games but with the Tigers on tonight, I'm okay with it

Fiers has actually not been awful as of late. Hopefully he doesn't follow in Peacock's steps

This team just needs to play .500 ball until the rotation gets healthy. That would suffice. Winning a few series would be a bonus.

Should prob wait to post this during the week where I know there'd be more discussion, but I know I'd forget

I saw this thread on the fantasy baseball subreddit about Gerrit Cole's struggles. Obviously I am completely aware fantasy baseball and real life value are completely different, but I found it interesting nonetheless

There isn't a ton of content/comments but still worth adding to the discussion about him

Can't remember if it was The Leg or Floating who hit the peacock with his car, but that's the peacock that showed up last night.

Lost 3 of the past 4 games. Don't like that man. Can we go back to winning please? That would be swell.

The interesting is his fastball average velocity has gone up, but his usage has gone down.

The other interesting thing is that his change up is new this year and was wiping people out earlier but is getting teed off on now.

IMO thats all fixable. I think this is the opportune time to buy low.

Also agree.

Storm has been pretty good at getting the most out of his guys.

Also, of note, Pittsburghs philosophy is to throw as many strikes as possible, hence the Ivan nova resurgence.

if the change up doesn't have enough movement and it's thrown in the zone, it's probably going to get pounded.

They are 6.5 out in last place in the NL Central, which has been weak thus far. I think that the Cubs will right the ship and eventually take control, but are the Pirates ready to sell from their current position? 60/40 doubt it.

No, that's the problem. The damn Cubs having their post-WS lull is messing up our timing. They need to go on a run and bury that division now.

Dallas Keuchel on his neck:

Had MRI when he returned to Houston this week. Nerve inflammation. Likely will miss multiple starts, he says

Dallas Keuchel no throwing for week to allow nerve to calm. Miss 1-2 starts possible.

I like this one a little better

We had a good run. At least it fell apart before the trade deadline so we can still be sellers.

I was trying to find some guys on sure sellers-Jamie Garcia has been healthy this year. Nice GB rate, consistent 6-7 innings this year. FA next year. Health is the question though and the issue for us. Cueto has been off this year but another option.

The thought was Cueto would opt out after this year and become a free agent again. If he's traded to a contender like us and he continues his off year, there's not much incentive to opt out and I don't want to be stuck with his contract.
