I just don't know that Correa has a spot, unless Lowrie or Altuve go on the DL. But at that point, he wouldn't be a net plus over those 2. We can move pieces for Tucker. He needs to be up soon. I just don't know about Correa.

He's hitting .418 at AAA

If we send Grossman down and call up Hoes, Grossman will mash in Fresno and Hoes will hit sub-Mendoza for the Astros

Yeah I don't see Correa coming up this season, I'd love for him to...I just don't see it happening. Lowrie has been playing very solid and at this point deserves a spot in the every day line up.
I do think there is a very good chance we see Appel in some capacity, whether it be bullpen or starting rotation, before the season is over though.

If we stay in contention into June, I think some of the prospects become the pieces that get traded for ML help. Lunhow will make those moves if he can get the right kind of pieces in return that have some years of team control attached.
Its good that guys like Tucker, Singleton, Kemp, so forth are doing well…they become valuable pieces to acquire some ML pieces.

Has Tucker played 1B at any level?
He was the everyday 1B at Florida so a transition would be smooth. But the Astros don't want him there.

Valbuena is in the final year of his deal.
Debate: If Correa were to come up in a month and immediately start hitting, would Luhnow trade Luis for another veteran starting pitcher before the deadline? Correa or Lowrie could play third.

Obviously never been to Petco Park, but seeing it on TV, it looks like the nicest park in the MLB by far. Should be an really good series though.

I would like this, but I agree that I don't see Correa coming up. I do think Appel is up at some point. I also like the idea of Tucker playing some 1B. He could split time between the OF and 1B, I would rather see him up over Singleton at this point though

I really cannot guess at this point whether Correa will come up or not but he is trying like hell to force Luhnow's hand. The kid is intensely special and I think he could really help a contending Astros this year. #DareToDream

Having the flexibility with Lowrie would be really nice. He could play 1B or DH if Carter and Gattis are still struggling. You could trade Valbuena and put him at third. He could fill in if god forbid Altuve or Valbuena went down. I think if it's the All Star break and the Astros are within 3 games of a playoff spot, and Correa is still mashing everything at AA, you should bring him up
Luhnow has a pretty specific plan he's following though and he's been pretty stubborn in following it so far, and I just don't see this being the type of thing where he breaks from it. It will be interesting to follow though.

It's definitely hard to know how flexible Luhnow will be.
But if Altuve missed time, I would think MarGo/Villar happens at 2B. If Valbuena goes down, the Correa Show debuts.

Astros are going to call up OF L.J. Hoes & option RHP Asher Wojciechowski to Fresno. That gives them extra position player for Padres series
Seriously, I know Hoes history in Houston, but you can't fault anyone for bringing up a guy that's raking right now. We will see how he holds up. Maybe a light came on?

Hopefully it works, and I like making this move for an NL series
Posted on 4/27/15 at 1:26 pm to Prominentwon
Interesting. I assume they will make another move before the series back home? I wonder what pitcher comes up to fill that rotation spot
Posted on 4/27/15 at 1:27 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
probably Oberholtzer if Ready, or Buchanan
