Well baws, it was a hell of a year.

86-76. AL Wild Card.
Division lead for the majority of the year
Banner years by Keuchel and McHugh
Manager of the year (in our hearts) in AJ Hinch

Gotta shake this off and improve this team so we can be back and win this bitch next year.

Offseason Needs:

Pitching
Pitching
Pitching
First Base
Pitching
Backup Catcher
More Pitching

Post any news throughout the offseason in this thread.

I had a hell of a time this season Baws and have enjoyed talking baseball with you all.

We will be back. Mark my words. We will be back.

2 starting pitchers. borderline SP1/2 that you can put behind or in front of Dallas. Then a mid-rotation guy.

team needs to add 2 veteran bats. a veteran OF or C or 1B.

overall need better team contact. Guys that can get on base to best give the mashers opportunities to hit them in.

If the stros can sure up the bullpen, they'll be unstoppable. The young ones will learn from this. Houston is built to sustain a run.

Good season Astros. Nothing to hang your head about. 2017 is the year anyway.

We'll keep Castro around for that. I want to see a couple of power arms for the pen, and for Gattis, Fields, and Neshek to GTFO.

Great year. Shame it had to end like this but the future is bright.

Nope. In fact, they will probably sign no one.

Keuchel
McHugh
LMJ (expecting more)
Fiers
Feldman/Velasquez/Musgrove/Appel/Feliz/Straily

a veteran OF

Middle of the order guy. Will be the big ticket FA.

That's where the top bats in the high minors come into play. They will compete for time at the corners and DH, in particular.

It will be interesting to see what they do considering they have so many young guys and guys who are close to being MLB ready. You have to think they make some trades with so much AAA and AA talent.

Top priority. Luhnow will trade for a closer and perhaps a proven setup man. Both will be hard throwers. Expect Hoyt and Jankowski to emerge as new pen arms.

I agree with pretty much everything you said for once Lester.

I don't see Carter, Valbuena, Gomez, Lowrie or Rasmus as pieces that will still be here next year.

Rasmus had a great post season but I don't know if they will be willing to pay him when he was brought in as a stop gap to begin with.

Carter had a great stretch there at the end of the season but either Tyler White or Aj Reed will take his spot next season.

Gomez still has another year on his deal from the trade, but he may be a good trade piece in the offseason.

Kazmir pitched his way out of being re-signed in the second half of the season IMO.

Pitching depth and a top of the line closer are also things that we desperately need.

The future is now though and there are so many things to be positive about going forward. For the first time in a long long time I can't wait for Astros baseball to be back already.

Gomez doesn't need to go anywhere.
