The hit on Cam by DT was also a dirty as frick hit, but it was Cam so I didn't give a frick.
Cam also wasn't wrapped up by two people and could have tried to avoid the hit. Adams was completely defenseless as he had no way to move out of the way.

Who gives a frick what hits were like 20 years ago? Shocking that we just recently learned about the potentially devastating effect of head injuries. NFL players today know the consequences of making exceptionally dirty hits like that and that is entirely unacceptable. Trevathean should be suspended for that. Just as bad or worse than anything Burfict has ever done.

There is 100% no way cam could’ve avoided that hit. Please go out and recreate that play to avoid the hit and film it 100 times and post it here.

And he didn't lower his shoulder. He lowered his helmet dead on at Adams. It was intentional. That's not even debatable.

Tonight was dirtier IMO. The guy was wrapped up and barely able to move. That gif is a guy running full speed. Hitting a semi stationary target vs moving target.

If he had tucked the ball instead of trying to throw it there were multiple ways he could have avoided it. He wasn't grasped and had free control of his body.
But like I said it was still a dirty as frick hit. He intentionally launched his helmet straight at Cam's head.
Otoh, Adams literally could not move out of the way.
