UFC bantamweight Cody Gibson tweeted a screenshot of an e-mail sent to fighters Wednesday, explaining how much they will be paid through the organization's uniform deal with Reebok. UFC senior vice president of public relations Dave Sholler confirmed the figures to MMAFighting.com.
Fighters who have between one and five fights in the UFC will make just $2,500 per fight under the tiered system. Fighters with six to 10 UFC bouts will make $5,000; 11 to 15 will get fighters $10,000; 16 to 20 fights earns $15,000; and 21 bouts and up gets a fighter $20,000. Title challengers will make $30,000 and champions will pull in $40,000.
The UFC's contract with Reebok is worth $70 million over six years. Fighters cannot wear any of their own sponsors inside the Octagon, during fight week or as part of any UFC-related event.
The e-mail sent to fighters, which was obtained by MMAFighting.com, reads that athletes will get their compensation within 10 business days following a bout. As previously announced, Strikeforce and WEC fights under the Zuffa banner will also count toward athlete's tenure.

Yeah I thought this was pretty bullshite when they announced the uniforms

how much money does this mean they pay out in total to the fighters? and how does that percentage compare to the NFL for example?

I thought it was tacky AF to see Mayweather and Pacquiao with stamped-on advertisements on their shorts inside the ring. As if they weren't already making enough money. . . [Obviously, that's one area where UFC would differ.]

So what does this mean for all the promoting fighters do before/during/after a fight?
They walk out with signs and flags with logos on them. They wear a shirt during intros. They have 5 different logos on their shorts during s fight. Then after the fight they put on s new shirt with logo and also a hat. And there's s guy behind them holding up another sign. Is ALL of that now not allowed?

Dynamic Fastener should get their tatoo pens ready.

Difference is pay scale. The NFL pays even the worst players a ton of money
Fighters are paid scraps per fight usually and usually survive off that money for promotions and the numbers that they get under the rebook deal are near enough to offset that loss of income
I think the narrative that UFC fighters don't get paid anything is a little mid guiding but cutting off a main source of income like this is not fair IMO

Ufc needs to start paying more or they will continue to lose elite athletes to other sports.

This is huge IMO.
6 years ago, in my 2nd fight with the UFC I pulled $13,000 in sponsorships alone. Over $16k was the gross, but 0% of 0 is 0, so my sports marketing guy got his cut.
I opened a box at the hotel with shorts, tshirts, and a banner, wore it for the fight, and got a $13k check in the mail a week later
Under these rules I would have 1/3 of that

So sad...It's crazy to see these guys so underpaid. You guys are elite and should be compensated accordingly.

It's my understanding that they can still sell space on their banners. I'm not sure how much revenue that could generate for them.

UFC is a sinking ship. This is what happens when you monopolize a sport and have complete control.

So how much on average were UFC fighters making before this deal? That scale seems like a pay decrease if anything.
Is this anything other than Dana White grabbing every single nickel that he can at the expense of his product? Where are the fighters benefiting in all of this? And why should they stick around under these terms?

Wait..they are going to uniforms? And the no sponsors thing is not gonna work for a lot of those guys. That has to be tough for both the new, up and coming fighters and the vets that have their own gyms/training teams and have had sponsors since they started fighting.

How much of the ppv cut did you get for fighting at UFC 81 and UFC 98?

Not all fighters get PPV points into their contracts. Usually just big stars.... IF we are talking about the same thing.
