Anyone a fan of this guy? I listen to him sometimes on my way to class. He's not as arrogant as Cowherd but his show is pretty vanilla. I never really understood why he left ESPN. He doesn't have the personality to be independent like a Jim Rome. Thoughts?

Back in the day when Dan Patrick was a sports anchor in Houston, Richard had his stroke. Patrick questioned him and his toughness.

Favorite Radio show. Great guests and asks good, difficult questions - and they are not "espn directed questions" meaning there is not an agenda to promote what ESPN tells him he must promote. He can actually make thoughts for himself and does not allow the network to tell him what to think unlike the majority ESPN and FOX radio hosts.

Dan Patrick left ESPN because ESPN forced him gain weight and to be in those nutri system commercials - he declined and said he would not put on weight and be unhealthy for a sponsor. ESPN told him he did not have a choice, so he resigned.

Danettes are hilarious.

I like Van Pelt the best. He has the right mixture of talent and humility. Dan Patrick is too much of a suckup for me. He's obviously bitter towards ESPN because he's always taking shots at them.

Out of the ESPN guys, I would agree Van Pelt is best. Although I do not care for Russillo (sp?) - Russillo talks about himself too much.

The Dan Patrick radio show is virtually unlistenable. He is such an ego manic. He talks about himself CONSTANTLY and puts on this persona of hip and cool. His schict with Oberman on Sun night football trying to recreate The Big Show is very lame. Dude is a tool!!
