I'll be in Dallas next week and might want to go to the Mavs/Cavs game on Monday. Thanks.

You may have to pay a little more for the Cavs than some other teams, but tickets will be available. There are a ton of ticket brokers here. Call Texas Tickets or one of the others and they'll give you a wide range of prices. Also, you can almost always get tickets outside the AAC, but be careful. If you're going to do that, you need to have a seating chart with you to make sure you don't overpay.

Right now, Dallas has its collective mind on the Cowboys. The Mavs and the Stars are kind of an afterthought for most people, even with the Cavs coming to town. It won't be truly hard to get a ticket for a Mavs game until March. Have fun.

P.S. The upper level at the AAC is pretty high. It' fine for hockey, but I wouldn't want it for basketball.

I was at the game last night. It was a sellout, but it was also opening night and against the Rockets, another Texas team. And there were plenty of scalpers selling out front. I don’t think it would be too hard to get a ticket.

And the 300 section is super high. And steep. It’s worth paying extra to sit in the lower bowl.

What range were upper/lower deck tickets selling for?

10-20 for the upper decks
20-50 for the lower deck, depending on where the seats were (excluding courtside seats)

Face value for the cheapest upperdeck seat is like $9. So it’s cheap if you just want in the building.

Wow. That's cheap compared to what I paid back in 1999 for a Wizards ticket at the ticket booth. I think the cheapest seat was $40.

That does sound cheap. You'll certainly pay more than that if you go through a ticket broker. But if you show up at the AAC maybe an hour before the game, there will be more than a couple of guys in the Victory Park area in front of the arena selling tickets. There are usually a few guys hanging out near the cash parking lots, too. If it gets close to game time, as is always the case with scalping, the prices will go down. And, if you're solo, you might just hang out at the Old No. 7 and get someone to give you a ticket.

Most people in Dallas will be watching Monday night football that night.

This is a very mature response that I think all real fans should adopt. It's much better to decide what team to cheer for based on who owns the team as opposed to the town you live in or the team with all your favorite players or even the team your family has watched your whole life. Your philosophy obviously explains why the Saints have so many fans on this board.

LMAO, you obviously know nothing about Cuban, it's my personal stance, i'm not saying that people who go to their games are moral reprobates, just that i personally wouldn't support such a vile person. Also, i doubt many in Dallas have been going to Mavs games their whole lives

That's not correct. I am sitting just a few miles from the AAC as I write this, I go to many Mavs games, and I know a lot about Cuban. I'm not saying I'm a fan of his, so don't get me wrong.

There might not be the same number of life-long Mavs fans as there are Cowboys fans, but there are a few. I haven't been in Dallas my whole life, so I'm not one of them. But I've been following the team steadily since the Don Carter days, so I guess I'm at least multi-generational as owners go.

IMO, you can't punish the whole team just because Mark became the owner. When he does stupid stuff, I call him on it just like I call out Jerry Jones for some of his antics. However, I support the Mavs, the Stars, the Cowboys, and the Rangers because, when Dallas teams win, that's good for Dallas.

i respect your opinion, i guess it's easier for me to hold that stance since, i don't not live in Dallas

Okay I realize but I'd be interested to know precisely what it is that Mark did that you find so repugnant.

supporting the loose change "documentary" and funding Redacted, i didn't support the war to begin with, but the way that movie portrays the soldiers can only increase the dangers they face over there
