Full Disclosure: I'm an LSU fan, but I still think he's the best pick.
Why? He has a great arm, and he made great strides this season. He can stretch the field with downfield passing if he can put better touch on his longer throws.
Also, he is a freaking gamer. Not letting someone help him off the field during the Alabama game showed me he doesn't expect anything to be given to him during the course of the game.

Well sure, there is a whole host of issues it appears. Let me also ask, if you like Romo is there a QB "in waiting" you'd like to see get selected and groomed since the draft has so many good QBs in it?

I think he'll bounce back nicely after his surgery. Besides, he is a pocket passer. As long has he can distribute weight without any pain, I think he can be a good quarterback.

Ok, I agree he is tough and a gamer. I have much respect for him as a Bama fan. Thanks. I just had a thought of this topic because not every QB is a good fit on any given NFL team and Dallas is one of those that always seems to need a good fit more than just an athelete.

I don't even think that is the problem so much as he is the boss in the lockerroom and that is the problem.
He hires spineless incompetent coaches who will put up with him...no coach worth a shite is going to dallas as long as jerry is alive. Same goes for snyder and mark davis (i guess any davis)

When I heard them interviewing JJ about the "Game plan" for the Thanksgiving game I almost threw up. They dont interview Garrett, they interview the fricking owner about the GAMEPLAN. How stupid is that?

Yeah, if he could stay healthy I think he'd be a good pick but he would take a lot of wear in the course of a NFL season...think he could hold up? He barely made it through 12 CFB games in one piece this year.

I like Mett a lot as a college QB and think in the right situation he might even make it in the NFL.
I don't think that situation is Dallas. Most people don't appreciate how often Romo saves plays there with his feet and his reaction time. Mett has a great arm but he strikes me as below average when it comes to pocket awareness. I don't actually think he's too immobile to be a NFL QB but his learning curve would have to be profound to really make it work in a place like Dallas (where there's tons of media attention, a meddling owner, and really not an over-abundance of talent on the lines).
