Didn't Syracuse lose one of these games recently? Like in the last couple of years?

Edit...it was in 2009 to LeMoyne.

To be fair, a Tom Izzo led team lost to D2 Grand Valley State. I won't throw stones.

Yeah I will cheer for their football team occasionally, but Tigers basketball fans have made me hate them more than most teams.

Izzo has also won a title and been to multiple Final fours. Pastner can't get to the sweet 16.

He's on thin ice for sure. Losing to a Div 2 team when you already have a track record of underachieving is not a good look. The big money people in Memphis won't stand for it.

Nobody wanted to follow in Cal's footsteps and Josh was the best we could do at the time. Now there would be plenty of viable candidates interested in the job.

Memphis fans hate the SEC in general because they've gotten the UAB treatment from Tennessee for over a century, among other things.

Many just seem to think that Memphis is on the same footing as schools like Kentucky, UCLA, Kansas, and Duke. They were especially annoying when Cal was there and now there inability to just move on about him leaving is really annoying.

Now with Pastner 99% of the local media seems to think he is some sort of coaching prodigy and they defend him relentlessly.

Thankfully as they continue to fall apart the Grizzlies are succeeding, so it is becoming more and more a Grizzlies city when it comes to sports coverage.
