And just to play along, do you think you're forgetting a step in that analysis...like maybe the bartman video in a thread about the cubs calling up a prospect? But by all means, skew it as you need to

That happened 12 years ago. It's time to brush that off

Go ahead and post a video of Damian Lillard's game winner last year vs the Rockets, or John Stockton's buzzer beater over Barkley if you would like. Not going to hurt my feelings

Thicker skin? We are cubs fans, it is thick as leather. However, we arent going let an organization as shitty and unheralded as the astros talk shite. Make sense?

Not really. Since we have been in existence, we have been just as good (if not better) than the Cubs. I'm not going to look at what happened 100 years ago when the Astros didn't even exist.

That part doesn't bother me as i routinely bash cubs fans for their treatment of him, but when someone acts a douchebag and gets called for one, i don't rush to defend him either. Hence why the guy may be angry, isn't wrong.

Seems like those would be really odd things and irrelevant to the conversation in a thread about the cubs calling up a SS prospect to play 2b for the major league squad.

Eventually would like to see this.

CF Fowler
2nd Russell
RF Soler
1st Rizzo
3rd Bryant
SS Castro
C Montero
P -
LF Coghlan

Fair enough.

Back to the topic - the Cubs have a solid foundation of young stars. I appreciate what they have done, because we have both taken the same rebuilding approach. Hopefully the efforts of both teams will pay dividends soon.

And for the record, I wish we were still in the NL Central instead of the AL West. But now that we are in opposite leagues, I have nothing against the Cubbies. I wish we still played each year

I like this a lot. Coghlan becomes a second leadoff man to set the table for the middle of that order. When Castro is hitting 6th and your happy about it, then you something is going in the right direction.

I think you might see rizzo stay batting 3rd. It seems to be where he's most comfortable and it also breaks up the lineup up to fowler batting lefty (if it's a righty), righty in russel, lefty in rizzo, righty in soler, then maybe separate the righty's again with montero ahead of castro.

Soler, Rizzo, and Bryant should be written in permanent ink at 2-4. Fowler is the prefect leadoff. Let Castro and Russell hit 5-6.

Not sure yet about Coghlan versus Montero at 7 and 9 because Coghlan is better.

It will be really filthy when Schwarber is in left, hitting fifth, and Castro and Russell are hitting sixth and seventh.

Chris Denorfia will be in LF tonight. Because of that I think Russell is hitting 5/6. Also probable that Castillo catches tonight.

Also, the corresponding roster move will definitely be Alcantara to AAA. He needs to figure it out by playing everyday.

My best guess for tonight:

Fowler CF
Soler RF
Rizzo 1B
Bryant 3B
Montero C
Castro SS
Coughlan LF
Wood P
Russell 2B

Maybe on a night against a RHP, but we will not stack 3 lefties in the lineup against Francisco Liriano tonight. No way.

Those guys will be great PH possibilities later.

Fowler
Soler
Rizzo
Bryant
Castro
Russell
Castillo
Wood

Guys, Russell is going to be amazing. Someone just traded Madison Bumgarner for him on my non-keeper fantasy league here on TD.

i don't really like soler in the 2 hole, but i guess as long as the pitcher is batting 8th, it's ok. Still i dont think there is much benefit when a guy like Herrera is in the 9th spot. He's a shitty hitter, not a 2nd leadoff guy. Maybe Russell can change that.

Herrera's not really supposed to be there. That was always supposed to be Tommy La Stella, who does put together some great AB's and is a perfect 9th hitter.

i know that. Doesn't mean Soler has to hit 2nd because La Stella is supposed to be hitting 9th

But it does...Maddon wants a that second leadoff hitter with good on base skills to hit 9th with the theory that Soler will get more AB's.

At least that's how I understand it. I've been wrong before.
