CSAL and CYO to cease operations July 31

Closing because of insurance concerns. A new league CSAA to form. Does anyone know the details of these "insurance" concerns? It's sad to see both leagues end.

Affiliations are expensive
It's the reason PARDS doesn't make money on league ball.
IMO, Little League is the only real draw for keeping kids interested in something other than tournament ball.

CYO will no longer exist. It would be up to the newly formed CSAA if they put on a tournament.

yup i got my friends of the cyo letter last week. my dad while he was living would never forget to drop the check in mail once a year from the both of us to cyo. wasnt large amount at all but i looked forward to continuing to help out.

Basketball rankings will still come out. Will just be CSAA now instead of CSAL. Should be out in about 2 weeks.

There still will be leagues for all that want to play, it won't be called CYO anymore.
St George has like 5 CYO basketball teams.
I think they are actually calling it varsity and JV now.
And yes St George A team will be loaded again, they have one kid that can dunk.
