I'm sure there is info on this subject on this board, but I didn't find it.

What's the story? It seems the Rangers are televised on Fox Sports N.O.

Direct TV?

What is the most dependable source for watching the Astros on TV? Apparently, the MLB package or MLB in general has some sort of blackout for "local" teams but I can't figure out the policy.

Direct TV and U-Verse are the only ones with Root Sports in Louisiana, I think.

Mlb tv - 90 minutes after last pitch you can watch any game that is blacked out.

Illegal streams

Or Direct , Uverse , and possibly Dish

I hated the fact that Astros and Rangers games were blacked out in New Orleans when I was a kid.

Did not know this.

And is NOLA far enough away from Houston to not be blacked out on the live MLB.com stuff? Baton Rouge definitely is blacked out...which is mind-blowing

Root is owned by DirecTV, some of the regional Root networks get picked up on Dish but it always takes a long time and a lot of negotiations. Root Southwest (the one the Astros and Rockets are on) isn't currently on Dish.

Cox has never had the Astros
Fox Sports Net used to have the Astros on in BR market but when they started losing and were terrible they made the switch to the Rangers instead.
Fox Sports New Orleans kind of messed up the whole Astros deal

Definitely miss the Astros, could care less about the Rangers even when they were winning

The good ole days is when we got Cubs in the afternoon and both Astros at night and Braves on Turner. Miss coverage of all three teams

i had Cox in Metairie and i'm pretty sure i saw the Astros and Rangers for a while on FS Southwest and FS Houston

the Astros thought they could do better on some other network so they made the choice to drop Fox Sports
