that's pretty easy to say when it isn't your body on the line, and you're not the one with millions in the bank already
in the next 10 years as more studies are done on the health of NFL players, you'll probably start to see a couple Barry Sanders type situation where a guy retires in his prime instead of after their body is already ruined

Stephen cut him to keep Jerry from franchising him in 2014.

Some people are appreciative of the money they're given and like to try to earn their fat contract. Stupid arse crackers.

If they didn't earn it they never would have been signed to it in the first place the way I see it (nb4MattFlynn)
I agree it would be fricked up to just get the fat contract and just quit. That's not what I'm trying to say for them to do though. I'm just saying, why tear your body up when you don't have to?
If I was an NFL player in my early 30's with enough money that I could live comfortably for the rest of my life and I was on a bad team with no championship hopes, I would seriously consider pulling a Barry Sanders and just up and retiring.
A few extra millions wouldn't do me any good in old age if I was practically crippled from earning it, and my brain was so deteriorated that I couldn't remember my playing days in the first place

It was a sports hernia, not a brain injury. He didn't even try to come back. Frick Ratliff.

Okay, well then Ratliff is a lazy tpos.
I didn't know his injury, and am really not even talking specifically about him. I'm just talking in general, NFL players and their health

I don't know, I love playing backyard tackle football every chance I get. I would imagine I'd have quite the love for football and I'd enjoy playing it, period.
That's why I'd continue to try, among other things. Just me, though.

True, love of playing the game is probably what keeps most guys playing to the point of their bodies falling apart. I just feel like with all the new information coming out about brain injuries and stuff that you'll start to see some guys retire earlier.

Ratliff could have made this D much better. But I agree with cutting him and opening a roster spot.
Dallas is doing it "with guys off the street".
Hopefully Nevis and Selvie keep playing well. Hatcher was a monster Sunday

He may be a cancer and a waste of space, but he also fit into Monte Kiffin's defense about as well as Will Smith and Jonathan Vilma fit into Rob Ryan's defense.

Rat has a labral tear in his hip. He won't play football again

Bout ready to say the same thing about Steven Jackson if he doesn't get his bitch arse back in the game.
