Two Cowboys related:

The Tony Romo / Seahawks botched field goal in playoffs in 2007. There was still a lot of time left on the clock. Cowboys stopped Seattle on their drive, got the ball back and had another chance at the win in the end.

Dez Bryant / Green Bay no catch. There were almost 5 minutes left on the clock. Still would have been a lot of work to do even if the Cowboys score there.

The Denkinger one is correct. The Royals scored the winning run in Game 6 with one out. And the Cardinals didn't have to have the full-blown meltdown in Game 7.

Albert Pujols ruined Brad Lidge's career. Two years later with Philly lidge gets 41 saves.

Michael Spinks lost the heavyweight title to Mike Tyson.

(Spinks really lost the title to Don King. On February 28, 1987, Spinks was stripped of the IBF heavyweight title for refusing to fight #1 contender Tony Tucker. Don King won the right to promote a Spinks-Tucker title fight with a purse bid of $711,000. In the case of a purse bid, the purse is divided 75 percent to 25 percent in favor of the champion. That would mean $533,250 for Spinks. Instead of fighting Tucker, Spinks fought Gerry Cooney for a purse of $4 million.)

Unified heavyweight champion Mike Tyson knocked out Spinks in one round on June 27, 1988. That was Spinks only lost as a pro and end his unbeaten run that dated back to his gold medal in '76 Olympics.

So much fail. They were down 3. Without the infield fly rule, they would have had bases loaded with 1 out. After the infield fly they had two on and two out.

2) Bill Buckner's error. That wasn't the deciding game of the series. The Mets still had to win game 7.

Same with the Miracle on Ice. The game against the Soviet Union wasn't for the gold medal -- that was the next game against Finland.

There's one reason that Buckner didn't make that play.

Jackie Robinson was not the first African American to play in MLB.

William Edward White played one game in 1879, and Moses Fleetwood Walker played almost the entire 1883 season.

Even better, that home run didn't even win the series. Ray Oswalt and the Astros shut down old Busch to win the NLCS the very next game.

Eeeeeeh

That was 18 years before the creation of the American League in 1901 and 20 years before the first world series in 1903.

Major League Baseball was founded in 1903 as a combination of the National League (1876) and previously referenced AL.

It kept them from winning it at home.

Good enough moral victory for me.

And a lot of people think that play would have ended the series, but it was actually the lead off hitter in the ninth.

Not to mention (possibly) the Bambino. There were rumors about his ancestry, and Ty Cobb refused to share a hotel with him. Had he not been the sport's greatest asset, Landis would likely have banned him from playing.
