All the best universities — Alabama, Florida, Louisiana State — wrote regularly. Colorado wrote the most, even sent a box of fake money — total pretend value $1 million — with the team’s mascot, a Buffalo, in place of the usual picture of a president. Harvard, oddly, corresponded.

This could be the most public of CU's many humiliations.

Dan Hawkins must have read the SNL oral history.

Will Ferrell, when he was auditioning for the show, eventually left a briefcase full of play-money in the office for Lorne Michaels and company as a "bribe" to get hired.

I remember hearing about this years ago and just saying to myself... "Someone is actually paying the man who thought this idea up".

Just imagine if the mascot money could be redeemed for medical marijuana in Colorado. That would have been a pretty good offer. One that Tyrann Mathieu would have had a hard time refusing.

Why make the effort? They should have been doing that with solid 3 star players.

Luckily for us Cocky is a former mascot of the year champion so our dollars were enough to secure Clowney.
