A great match up between two great programs

This game was huge in a upward trend under Swinney

OBJ, Jarvis Landry, Jeremy hill, Mingo and Eric Reid. Andre Ellington, Vic Beasley, Grady Jarret and Sammy Watkins who was injured early. Deandre Hopkins. So much talent on the field

There were even two South Carolina fans with Gamecocks for LSU shirts in the stands but I cant find the pic

highlights

Remember all the crap Tharold Simon got for not being able to cover Hopkins and then we see Hopkins routinely destroy NFL corners

LSU had a great defense that year. Had Craig Loston at safety who was a clemson commit at one point

one of the few times Les could be accused of running the ball too few times. or specifically running a player too few times. Jeremy Hill had 10 ypc and a couple long TDs but only got 12 carries.

Yep. Clemson couldn't stop Hill....So Les inexplicably did it for them. Then the late game Chavis D showed up.

Dabo looked a that game as one of the marquis wins in building his program.

It's absolutely one of the biggest, most foundational wins of Dabo's career. If you ask any Clemson fan on the planet where they were for 4th and 16, I guarantee you they'll know exactly what you're talking about and know exactly where they were when it happened.

I also remember that game for Malichai Goodman turning into Lawrence Taylor. He was one of the more highly rated defensive recruits we had signed (at that point in Dabo's career), and he'd done basically nothing his entire career, but then in that final game as a senior he was a damn wearwolf.

It was an entertaining game until the Hill no show after only 12 carries.

You would be hard pressed to find more WR talent in one college game than OBJ, Landry Watkins and Hopkins

The Walmarts in SC sold "4th & 16" t-shirts for a solid year.

That accomplishment was right up there with the Moon Landing.

I remember LSU's offense being very predictable during that game. Not shocking at all.

FWIW, it's still pretty awesome that all that talent was on the same field at the same time.

Our last series of plays, we come out and throw for like 8 yards on a 1st down. 2 plays to get 2-3 yards. I'm feeling good. 2nd down run didn't get much, and on 3rd.... Mett is rolling out. Unpredictable play calling, terrible results.

On the whole, I thought 2012 was one of Les's better coaching jobs, with all the personnel issues (Tyrann being booted, all the injuries/ attrition especially on the Oline). Still some wtf play calling moments vs Bama and Clemson though.
