I know there are some Big Red Machine Fans here, me included. Saw this tonight. From 2013, but pretty cool. The only thing missing is Sparky.

I was a big fan back in the day.

The 75 and 76 Reds teams were the GOAT all time in MLB history.

George Foster was my hero.
When I was playing league ball in the 70s as a youngster, I would "crank" my right elbow at the plate like Joe Morgan.
When I would pitch, I would make sure my right knee touched the ground like Tom Seaver.
Johnny Bench was also one of my heroes.

Mickey Mantle was the first guy I recall being enemorred with, but that was actually after he wasn't playing any longer. Then late one weekend night I saw a program with a catcher talking about various techniques for playing the position, hitting, etc. That was Johnny Bench just before he exploded into super stardom. He was my favorite player until the day he retired and is still probably my all time favorite.
Foster was a little league coaches nightmare, I recall coaches telling guys "DO NOT catch fly balls one handed like George Foster does!"
ETA: I also remember Bobby Tolan standing at the plate with that impossibly high bat position. I liked Seaver as a Red but I always thought of him as a Met.

The Big Red Machine should have won more than two World Series.
They had no business losing to the A's in '72, after getting a little lucky beating a great Pittsburgh team in the NL championship series.

You can thank Charlie Finley for the Red Machine...if he wasn't such a cheap bum gutting his dynasty, A's win every year in the 70s.

Someone in that lineup won the 1970, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1977 MVPs

As a kid in the 70's, I used to love yelling his name every time I jumped from a great height...

One of the greatest World Series moments ever was when the A's decoyed Bench into thinking they were intentionally walking him (meeting on the mound, catcher holding his free hand out, etc.), then throwing a strike to end the inning and get out of a jam.

best sustained collection of position players in my lifetime and also still the best World Series ever for my money the '75 Series with the Red Sox.
