Lineups TBA
Cubs (34-34) Jon Lester
Padres (28-42) Clayton Richard
The man and legend Matt Szczur makes his return to Wrigley tonight.

So you're telling me that no only is Clayton Richard still in the league, but he's a starter now? Good God.

Yeah. His mechanics still drive me nuts
Posted on 6/19/17 at 9:23 am to BCMCubs
His mechanics are the Pedro Strop's hat of pitching.

That may be the most accurate analogy in baseball history

Let's just hope they don't Padre all over the Cubs like they did in that sweep a few weeks ago. Cubs really need a sweep at home with the road trip coming up.

Im about to take off on a cruise for a week (trashy). Can someone else handle the game threads

I'm about to go on my honeymoon. MLB app should still work in Greece.

Has it been discussed that Rizzo has reached base to lead off every game since he started batting leadoff?
It probably has but I haven't been around much.

Imagine if he still had fricking Szczur's bat.

Reached again today to lead off

Lead off single - can't score.
Lead off double - can't score.
Lead off triple - can't score.
If they find a way to not score on a lead off homerun, I give up.

Yeah this in-opportunistic play is getting old. In positive news, Chris archer is to the cubs gaining a bit of traction. Would be a great upgrade even if it does cost Eloy Jimenez.

As much as I'd love to have archer, this team has far more problems than just a starter. They can't score on Clayton freaking Richard

You did it
ETA: one problem at a time. I have faith the bats will pick up. I don't have faith in lackey or butler

This...we'll definitely need an arm are to in order to contend if we make the playoffs. But we need all of our underachieving talent to start hitting in order to make the playoffs. Rizzo has finally come around.
Now time for Russell, KB, WC40, Baez, Schwarber and Zobrist, et al. to start hitting to their potential.
