Pretty discouraging how Jake has gone from historically great to downright mediocre in 2 years. Amazing what 2 mph off a fastball can do, but I imagine it's deeper than that. His ERA is over 5 from last June to now.
One positive of that is that it makes it easier to do the right thing and part ways with him for a younger arm at years end. He was quoted as saying there would be no "home team discount". How prophetic that now is.
Jettison he and Lackey and get two young guns as I can assure you there are several who would love to pitch for the Cubs.

He needs to be off the team. Rizzo was right that there's one catcher that throws people out. Montero sucks and he's not worth the bullshite he's starting.

I mean I appreciate what he did, but this is the same guy who was complaining about playing time the day after winning the World Series. You can't allow that type of bs in your clubhouse, especially from someone who's not performing.
