The Cubs (82-47) begin a 7-game homestand tonight as they host the Pirates (67-61). Pittsburgh is 14.5 games back in the NL Central, but very much in the Wild Card hunt. Jake Arrieta (16-5, 2.62) gets the ball opposite Steven Brault (0-1, 3.60) Go Cubs Go!

3 more days until I get back to Wrigley. Only question is, will I be in the bleachers or a rooftop?

A lot of purple and gold will be filing through Wrigley over that 7 game stretch. We'll be there Wednesday night, root root rooting for the home team.

The ball he hit with runners on first and third that Gonzalez somehow caught was probably the hardest he's hit a ball all year.

not surprised the ruling was out after reviewing whether arrieta was blocking the plate. the pirates broadcasters didn't really know how it was going to go. i don't think anyone disagrees that it's a good baseball play, but still real confusion about that rule.

Shouldn't Arrieta be out of the game? Wasn't that two mound visits from the dugout this inning?
