Damn, what a career for a DB.

I know people in Tennessee still pissed about him winning the Heisman (but Peyton never won shite and couldn't ever beat Florida) - while Woodson spearheaded that Michigan National Title team on O and D.

But Damn...what a career for Woodson...longevity like Peyton.

Tonight...

Charles Woodson became the first player in NFL history to have 50 career interceptions and 20 sacks.

The 1998 Draft was...

1. Manning
2. Leaf
3. Andre Wadsworth
4. Woodson

Two busts and two HOF locks.

What a great all-around football player - still brings the enthusiasm while playing for the freaking Raiders... LINK

I think he's one of the more underrated athletes of our generation for such a demanding position relying on youthful speed. I wish he had gotten the glory for the Tuck rule sack and beating NE to send the Raiders to the SB.

Charles Woodson is up there with the greats of the greats.

Agree, Woodson is still very damn good this season alone.

Helluva career.

I am the West Coast thorn in the side of the MSB...and I'll never deny it.

Somebody has to represent the Left Coast.

But this is about Woodson, what a phenomenal longevity and athlete...I really don't think he gets enough credit.

He probably doesn't. 8x pro bowler. A couple pages worth of accolades. How many other 38 year old Safeties are there in the NFL? Unless he already broke it, I think he's 1 TD away from most defensive TDs in league history.

The most under appreciated and awesome football player I have ever seen play. And like some of you guys said earlier, he plays his arse off at a demanding position, at 38 years old, for the fricking Raiders. He is just amazing. 1st ballot Hall of Fame lock.

im a tennessee fan and had no problem with woodsen winning the heisman. He was and still is a very special player and was fun to watch at michigan. I always enjoy watching a special talent like that. Also An elite db is my favorite position on the field and i appreciate everything woodsen was on the field and how he carried himself off of it.

Mike Detellier loved himself some Andre Wadsworth. His evaluation of him was off the charts.

John Saunders with ESPN was instrumental in Woodson winning that Heisman. That's the 1st time I can remember ESPN "pushing" an agenda like they do all the time now.

Woodson was great, but they were determined to get the award to a defensive player.

They latched on to the whole "never beat Florida" thing. Barry Sanders never beat OU. Nobody ever questioned who Andre Ware, Rashaam Salaam, Ty Detmer, Tim Brown, Ron Dayne, etc beat or did not beat.

Woodson is an absolute animal, NFL HoFer and one of the best CFB players of all time.

But to say he spearheaded Michigans Offense when they won the title is quite a stretch

Good call. How many times did Woodson beat Florida?

You realize that Peyton's time at UT coincided with Spurrier's best teams at Florida don't you? Danny Weurffel would have floated td passes all over Woodson.
