I knew this thread would turn into a catholic vs central thread

I hope both win and meet up in the quarters.

I wouldn't call it really close, but it was tight for a while. Central won by 8 but really by 10 because they took a safety on the last play of the game to run the clock out. Both teams have improved throughout the season so it would be interesting to see what happens.

But first things first, both teams have to win this Friday before any of that talk can start.

Central lead the whole game but it was competitive. 31-23 Central

I know Catholic has improved all year. Sid has done the same knowing him.

Hope it happens.

Before ya'll anoint Central to the semifinals.. might want to look back over the years at teams replaying regular season opponents in the playoffs....

Dutchtown not withstanding...the odds greatly favor the team that lost the first game...

If there are different refs this time, Catholic will probably win. Plus it was in the hell hole known as Wildcat Stadium.

NISH has a pretty solid ball club, I expect it to be closer than what people think

Here you go again with the refs. I can assure you over the past 5 years Catholic has been on the better side of favorable calls from the refs. Every time a regular public schools plays a "Catholic" school (Catholic High, St. Paul's, etc...), you are not just playing the other school you are playing against the refs. Catholic is just pissed that after all the years of spanking Central; Central is now beating that arse. Catholic was so tired of losing to Central they removed us from future schedules. Not sure if new districts next year puts Catholic and Central against each other.

It is playoff time so it wouldn't surprise me if Mandeville comes into Central and beats them.

I hope New Iberia comes to BR and beats the crap out of Catholic.

They are high school refs, they are all horrible for both teams. It is a given.

Arguing about refs in a Louisiana high school football game is pointless. They are horrible and always will be horrible for all teams.

So back to the current week

How good is New Iberia?

Catholic has had an incredible turnaround this year. I just hope Weiner can finally figure out how to keep this run going through the playoffs

Catholics team is legit this year. I have been to a bunch of their games and it is a 180 degree turnaround from last year.

Catholic and Central should both take care of business Friday and set up what should be a great game. Even though in my opinion Catholic should win and go to the Semis.

My only fear is that Catholics defense has been very hit or miss this year so you really dont know what your going to get. Will be interesting to see cant wait!

It gets worse. If you play on a youth team sponsored by the New Iberia Recreation Dept. You have to where a shirt that says "NIRD."
