She covers the football team. Hearing a reporter go in depth about a team he/she covers is not at all unusual.

She's also been covering the panthers for 2+ years. I'm fairly certain yesterday wasn't the first time Cam took questions from her.

It's going to be made into a bigger deal than it should. But would you ever hear Brady, Brees or Rodgers say this? No, because they have awareness for situations like this. Cam has no social awareness at all. He constantly shoots himself in the foot with shite like this. How about just not saying that? It's not like a route tree is something hard to understand, especially for someone the writes about football for a living. Dude is dumb, Camther fans won't admit that.

It's also just a stupid thing to say. Make reporters regularly ask dumber questions.

It's like you people didn't even listen to the question. She was relaying what Funchess said he was working on. She wasn't making an observation about the man's routes.

As for the outrage, it's no different than someone saying it's funny to hear a black man talk about being a dad. Is it an accurate generalization? Maybe. Is it insulting to the individual who is the exception? Of course.

well to be fair, they shouldn't and don't know anything about routes.

The whole "you need to play the game to understand the game" mindset is flawed.

She's been a sports reporter for a while now and was a Panthers beat writer last season. I highly doubt that was the 1st question she ever asked Cam nor was it the 1st question Cam has ever taken from a woman about sports.

She also wasn't even going in-depth about routes, I have no idea why you chose to take that stance in your post if you heard her actual quotes. Cam's response made no sense whatsoever.

Yea, everyone here acting like all these male reporters have all played the game is funny, didn't realize so many posters were that naive.

The video is actually what makes this entire situation more cringeworthy. He's laughing and moving around before making the comment.

680 The Fan in Atlanta has been talking about this for over an HOUR right now calling him every name imaginable while taking calls from every mouthbreather from Loganville to Bremen. This outrage is fricking HILARIOUS.

I do find women side line reporters humorous. Until you've been hit so hard you black out/taste blood, or you've been at the bottom of a pile fighting, gouging, and clawing for the ball...you just don't understand the game.

The whole idea of sports reporting is hilarious to me.

I don't think I've ever seen a more pointless form of "journalism" in existence.

It would be 10x the story it is now, and you know it.

Lebatard is going out of his way to downplay Cam and make it a "nuanced" story, and of course, about race. If this was say, Joe Flacco, he would be getting straight murdered.

I'm not going to pretend to be outraged about this story though. I can't stand Cam, and it was a stupid thing to say. I don't really give that much of a frick though.
