June Jones was truly an interesting character. 99% of coaches who ever get to the level he was at are so full of pride, envy, ambition, and ego that they would never allow themselves to truly just quit the way he did. Normal people would easily quit if they had ten million, but successful coaches are not normal. I can't think of any coach who got that lazy and truly didn't care. Spurrier was close to it in terms of lazy but he still cared and his laziness was due to his ego being so big that he though he could win without working hard. June Jones DNGAF.

Ok, June quit but he didn't completely suck at SMU. He had some good seasons, and besides...he never wanted to be there. They paid him P5 money.

Jones did the damn near impossible at SMU
He left them in worse shape he got them in.
But to his credit he went to bowls got the admin to get a campus bowl game and made the Ponies a decent team.

Literally every good thing he did was undone by his last 4 years after Arizona State yanked a potential job from him. He flat out quit trying and put them in an even bigger hole than they already were.
The guy wouldn't even get up off his arse to visit area high schools for recruiting. Instead, he thought players should want to come to SMU bad enough that they should send him tapes so he could scout them that way.

Don't blame me this time
I have played nice (not mentioned Jones, left the Aggies alone, and not asked for Ivy to be fired)
Because I know if Ivy gets fired in 2 years he may end up at SMU as HC if Morris gets in a bowl.
